“After 30 years in our emergency department I have worked with innumerable consultants on a myriad of projects. Despite this wide spectrum of experiences, one clearly stands out.

Our work with EHD, specifically with Drs. Bassin and Sozener, has been the single best example of expert consultancy that I have experienced.

Their knowledge, dedication and passion are palpable and their collective ability to guide and refine the design of an emergency department are truly unparalleled.

Having worked with them for the past 18 months I can unequivocally say that I would never do a project like this again without them.”

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.

“In my role as a trusted advisor to top tier health systems, I am really selective when I curate the perfect team for an operational planning or design project.

Ben and Cemal always are my first choice and have delivered more than expected in every single interaction with the internal team and with clients. Their knowledge of trauma, emergency medicine, and the academic environment are one reason that leaders and innovators seek them out.

But its their openness – to new ways to think about a problem, to creation of new models of care, to incorporation of frameworks like design thinking or lean planning – that make them my number one choice for a project partner.

Plus, they are an absolute delight to work with and we have a ton of fun while we are doing what we love together.”

“In developing the project team required for the first phase of the master plan at UC Medical Center, including an expansion on the emergency department, a patient tower, and new surgical building, we needed clinical leaders with expertise to guide our clinical team through the planning and design process together with the architect team. As practicing, seasoned physicians with extensive experience with healthcare building projects, the Emerging Healthcare Design team of Dr Cemal Sozener and Dr Ben Bassin greatly assisted our project team at large to develop and prioritize guiding principles in line with the clinical and operational mission of the organization. As an example, during Design Development they led clinical teams through various simulation scenarios in mock-up rooms built to actual size including a trauma bay, operating room, ICU room, ED bay, and observation room. The clinical teams were highly engaged, and through the process we received valuable feedback and discovered several great ideas to improve an already excellent design.

While all moderators were very good, the two of them were superb and far exceeded my already high expectations for the benefit we would get from this exercise. I received many comments on their style and method with the teams. There is no doubt that the work accomplished by EHD will both lead to a successful project, but also positively impact our clinical teams for years into the future.”
